Traffic Medical Examinations at Ärztezentrum Notfall 3
As of March 12, 2025, Ärztezentrum Notfall 3 AG offers traffic medical examinations for Level 1 and Level 2. These examinations are legally required to assess the fitness to drive for different vehicle categories.
The cost of medical traffic checks must be paid in cash on site (not covered by health insurance unless the person being treated is under 18 years of age).
- Level 1: CHF 180
- Level 2: CHF 220
Traffic Medical Examination – Level 1
The Level 1 examination applies to individuals who need to obtain or renew a driver’s license for the following categories:
- A (Motorcycles): Motorcycles without engine displacement limitations, with or without a sidecar.
- A1 (Light motorcycles): Motorcycles with a maximum engine capacity of 125 cm³ and up to 11 kW power.
- B (Passenger cars): Motor vehicles with a maximum weight of 3.5 tons and up to 8 seats (excluding the driver’s seat).
- B1 (Light motor vehicles): Three- or four-wheeled motor vehicles with an unladen weight of up to 550 kg.
- F (Small motorcycles): Vehicles with a maximum design speed of 45 km/h.
This examination ensures that you are medically fit to drive a vehicle safely.
Traffic Medical Examination – Level 2
The Level 2 examination is more comprehensive and applies to individuals with higher requirements for their driving ability, especially for professional driving or specific vehicle categories.
This examination is required for the following driver’s license categories:
- C (Trucks): Motor vehicles over 3.5 tons.
- C1 (Small trucks): Motor vehicles between 3.5 and 7.5 tons.
- D (Buses): Motor vehicles with more than 8 seats (excluding the driver’s seat).
- D1 (Minibuses): Motor vehicles with more than 8 but a maximum of 16 seats (excluding the driver’s seat).
- Taxi drivers and chauffeurs: Individuals who transport passengers professionally.
This examination includes an in-depth medical assessment to ensure that you can drive safely even under demanding conditions.
